September 18 is the anniversary of the first National Government Assembly of Chile! The day kicks-off El Dieciocho and a series of celebrations, including victories of the country's armed forces. Historically, the establishment of the First National Goverment Assembly of Chile on September 18, 1810 was the first of many steps that would eventually lead to that country's proclamation of independence from Spain on February 12, 1818.
