Commanders!
Traditionally, World of Tanks will be the principal sponsor of TANKFEST 2025, a grand annual gathering of armored vehicle enthusiasts to be held by our long-time partners at The Tank Museum in Bovington, U.K. from Friday, June 27 through Sunday, June 29. This year's event will be even more special as World of Tanks is partnering up with the Musée des Blindes to bring their King Tiger to TANKFEST!
Start: 2025-06-27 / End: 2025-06-29
Daily 08:30 to 18:00 GMT
One of the headliners of the show, the King Tiger from the Musée des Blindes in Saumur, France, will participate in TANKFEST for the first time and will feature prominently in our Tankfest Online Historical Livestream. The arena line-up will also include plenty of unique historic and modern vehicles from the Tank Museum's collection (the finest display of moving armor that features the FV4005 we all helped restore last year). Along with the arena demonstrations, expect lectures from tank experts, Living History encampments, and more.
The King Tiger from the Musée des Blindes is extra special as it is currently the only running King Tiger in existence. The machine was assembled from parts of different King Tigers captured by the Allies. Its turret and part of its mechanics come from a command vehicle that saw action in Normandy in 1944. Now, World of Tanks is working with the Musée des Blindes to bring the true legend of tank-building to the TANKFEST 2025 audience. Along with the arena demonstration, the show visitors will be able to see the King Tiger up and close in a dedicated area.
Several machines make up the King Tiger in the Musée des Blindés. It was assembled by French specialists after the war to provide them with a working tank for testing. The turret and part of the mechanics belonged to the command tank 300 of the 3rd company of the Schwere Panzer-Abteilung 503. It fought in Vexin Normand at the end of the Battle of Normandy, suffered a mechanical breakdown in full retreat, and was abandoned by its crew on 28 August 1944.

The Tank Museum brings the story of tanks and their crews to life, with the world’s finest collection of tanks displayed in awe-inspiring, modern exhibitions. The museum houses 300 tanks, representing key battles from every major conflict since the First World War, including the first working prototype, Little Willie, Tiger 131, to the modern Challenger 2. The exhibitions tell the story of this British invention featuring moving accounts from the soldiers that fought in them.
The Musée des Blindés in Saumur, France, houses one of the world’s largest collections of armor with over 800 tanks and military vehicles, including 220 on display. Covering conflicts from World War I to present day, it offers a unique journey through military history. Visitors can explore rare and legendary tanks, making it a must-visit for history and tank enthusiasts worldwide.
See the King Tiger and other legendary vehicles roll out in Bovington this June, Commanders!
