Military Appreciation Month is an important month for us here at Wargaming. We want to spotlight those employees that served in the military and celebrate them throughout the month of May. This time we speak with Marcus Diemer, aka Tankology, Player Gatherings Manager at Wargaming America and best known for traveling the United States in the Wargaming Road Tour Hummer!
I joined the German Armed Forces in June 1992 as a four-year voluntary and left May, 2004 as a Gunnery Sergeant.

Wildflecken, Germany was probably the coldest winter inside a tank I have ever experienced. We had to live in our SPZ Marder 1A5 for about three weeks straight. Imagine a crew of nine men inside a space of maybe 10-15 square feet with no shower. It was a TRUE "man cave" with that smell.
KFOR Mission (Kosovo)
I don't want to say much about it but I lost roughly 95 pounds in four months. This really changed my views about the important things in life.
I received the Kosovo KFOR medal for participation in the Kosovo mission.
A lot of sports and fitness activities, and of course, gaming.
My experience and my interest in military history, as well as my passion as a gamer has helped me tenfold. It is still a big part of my work ethic and drives some important values for me in my day-to-day life. Things like:
